Logistics Manager Inventory Management and Purchasing

The duties of the Logistics Manager will be to oversee our inventory and purchasing operations as it relates to our supply chain process. Must possess indepth knowledge of inventory management systems and procedures. Duties will include maintaining budgets analyzing materials researching vendors and ensuring all customers and departments have adequate access to materials they require. This position reports directly to the Plant Manager.
- Mentor and develop Logistics and others as needed
- Planning organizing and prioritizing work according to production schedules / daily requirements
- Ensure clear communication across all shifts / departments pertaining to customer deliveries
- Continuous improvement of inventory levels
- Creating implementing and auditing Standard Operating Procedures for proper operation of the Logistics Department
- Planning administration of all logistic processes Warehouse layout and management Supply Chain management material flow including packaging data
- Production planning / Supplier schedules
- Participation in improvement process like : Safety Quality Productivity 5S
- Develop the logistics planning process using (SAP)
- Perform other related duties that may be assigned or associated with the responsibility of the position
- Design and maintain department budgets. Maintain and monitor KPI s.
- Prepare and file detailed records on procurement activity quantity and vendors.
- Collaborate with management to plan forecasting models
- Monitor inventory levels and access to the material
- Manage the distribution of suppliers in the organization
- Record and assess all material quality movement and expenditure
- Recommend solutions to existing processes to reduce waste and increase quantity
Requirements
Bachelor s degree in Business or Engineering 3 years automotive industry experience, or at least 10 years directly related technical experience in the automotive industry Technical skills and project management skills required Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills required Customer relations experience helpful Ability to operate a vehicle and valid driver s licenses required Ability and willingness to travel out- of- town Work performed in an office environment with minimum exposure to unpleasant working conditions
Education
Knowledge of TS16949 (IATF Standards) Knowledge of ISO 14001 Standards Ability to critique die design concepts for both production worthiness and ease of maintainability Ability to multi-task and prioritize 4-year Supply Chain degree or equivalent experience in the Supply Chain Proven Managerial experience a plus Strong understanding of supply chain and inventory management systems
