Registered Nurse (RN) – Med/Surg (Adult) – Night Shift
Location: St. Johnsbury, VT
Start Date: April 14, 2025
Job Type: Contract (13 weeks, potential extension)
Shift: Day and Night shift (7 AM – 7 PM and 7 PM – 7 AM, 36 hours per week, every other weekend)
Job Overview:
A healthcare facility in Vermont is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join its Med/Surg unit. This position primarily involves providing care for adult patients, with occasional pediatric cases. Candidates must have a strong background in acute care, with a commitment to high-quality patient care and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive medical, surgical, outpatient, observation, and swing bed care
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care using critical thinking and the nursing process
- Ensure patient-centered care that meets physical, emotional, and developmental needs
- Work closely with the Unit Director, Clinical Nurse Lead, and Nursing Supervisor
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the EMR system (Meditech experience preferred)
Requirements:
- Active RN license in Vermont or compact state
- BLS (BCLS) certification required; ACLS preferred
- Minimum of 3 years of acute care experience (Med/Surg experience required)
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team
- Must be available for holiday coverage as needed
Additional Details:
- Orientation is held on the 2nd and 4th Monday of the month. (Orientation is Paid)
- Travelers can work up to 26 weeks (initial 13-week contract with potential extension)
- All credentials must be submitted at least five business days before the start date
