Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our Operating Room team. The ideal candidate will have experience in various healthcare settings and possess a strong background in surgical procedures.
Duties
- Perform pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative nursing care for patients undergoing surgical procedures
- Maintain a sterile field and adhere to aseptic technique standards during procedures
- Monitor patients' vital signs and assist the surgical team as needed
- Administer medications, including anesthesia, and assist with patient positioning
- Document patient care activities accurately and efficiently
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes
Skills
- Proficiency in occupational health, laboratory, and long-term care practices
- Knowledge of medical-surgical nursing principles
- Experience working in an ambulatory surgery center
- Ability to administer injections and medications safely and accurately
- Familiarity with Athenahealth or similar electronic health record systems
- Competency in ventilating patients and managing outpatient care
- Strong understanding of outpatient surgical procedures
