Automotive Quality Consultant
Position Type: Independent Consultant (1099 or LLC)
Locations: Continental United States
Travel Required: 1 week onsite in Lapeer, MI & 4 weeks remote

Our consultants are industry experts, providing tactical operational wins to OEMs and T1 Suppliers via extensive industry knowledge, critical thinking and problem-solving abilities, and a passion for making hands-on changes to warehouse and production floors rapidly.
- Provide resources, technical support, coaching and consultation around quality improvement, technology, and professional development needs.
- Provide technical support in the quality audit process; input PPAP, APQP documentation into a Mercedes-Benz SQMS (Supplier Quality Management System).
- Lead problem solving efforts and collaborate with the manufacturing team regarding open corrective actions.
- Provide support or conduct internal audits; IATF, LPAs, supplier compliance etc.
- Initiating and implementing process improvements through innovative creative ideas.
- Works with Quality Department to analyze any quality concerns throughout the Production process, and implement necessary changes in order to improve production efficiency, quality and processing.
Requirements
- 5 years of hand-on Quality Control experience within an Automotive or Aerospace production/manufacturing environment.
- Experience inputting PPAP, APQP documentation into a Mercedes-Benz SQMS (Supplier Quality Management System).
- IATF knowledge
- Strong analytical and conceptual skills and ability to communicate effectively with client customers at all organizational levels.
- Strong oral and written communication and documentation skills, including presentation skills (MS Excel, MS Visio, MS PowerPoint, etc.)
- Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to exercise mature judgment.
- Experience leading small teams or delivering projects or programs.
- Experience prioritizing tasks and managing assignments in a collaborative team environment.
- Bachelors’ Degree in Engineering or related, preferred.
- ERP and SAP experience required.
- Previous Consulting Experience Preferred
