Wellness Director/Director of Nursing – LPN

The ideal LPN full-time position, Wellness Director for 35 apartment Assisted Living Community in Shelbyville, KY. The position is a working supervisor of nursing for an energetic, outgoing, caring individual with a genuine desire to work with seniors. Looking for a dynamic person with a commitment and passion for helping seniors to join our team. This is a wonderful opportunity for those who are passionate about serving seniors and their families to lead our community nursing program and care staff. Job duties include, but are not limited to, supervising the care staff; preparing functional assessments of residents upon admission, as needed and quarterly; overseeing all aspects of medication management and administration; ensuring compliance with federal, state, regulatory, and company guidelines.

Applicants must have an LPN from an accredited nursing school or Kentucky nursing license in good standing, must have management experience in a nursing environment, geriatric nursing experience and must be able to successfully pass a criminal background check and other pre-employment testing. Applicants must be able to work outside normal working hours to include nights and weekends as needed.

Responsibilities:

Providing resident care while demonstrating the Mission for Amber Oaks, ‘to provide quality Assisted Living Care services with compassion, and customer service to meet the needs of the residents and their family members while making a worthwhile contribution to the community in accordance with federal, state and local standards, and Company policies.

Qualifications:

  • LPN or state-specific licensed nurse credential
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Previous experience working with seniors preferred and desire to serve and care for seniors
  • Ability to make choices, decisions and act in the resident’s best interest
  • Ability to react and remain calm in difficult situations
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities
  • Demonstrates good judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Minimum of six (6) months experience working with seniors in assisted living, home health, independent living, hospital or long term care environment and desire to serve and care for seniors
  • Decision-making abilities and acting in the resident’s best interest, ability to react and remain calm in difficult situations, and possess written and verbal skills for effective communication and level of understanding
  • Must have demonstrated experience in the senior healthcare industry.
  • Be accurate, concise, detail-oriented, and able to work cooperatively as a member of a team.
  • Effective communication with residents, families, and at all levels of the organization is essential. Possess written and verbal skills for effective communication and level of understanding
  • Duties include resident assistance.
  • Experience in gerontology, management, and rehabilitation is a plus.

Essential Functions

  • Liaison between physician offices, residents, families/responsible parties, and Amber Oaks care teams.
  • Assesses, develops & initiates the Care & Service Plan for all residents
  • Monitors resident medical records for accuracy and regulatory compliance
  • Supports and assists in day-to-day care and clinical needs as needed.
  • Conducts interviewing & hiring, participates in employee training, evaluates performance, participates in employee orientation, and delegates assignments for all direct reports.

Pay: $22.00 - $24.00 per hour
