New Hire Requirements
Available to attend employee orientation in-person. New hire orientation will include hands-on training for barista station, cashiering, stocking shelves, washing and packing produce, plus an overview of our company perks, policies, and expectations.
New hires must demonstrate eligibility to work in the United States. Amber Waves is not able to sponsor foreign working visas.
Applicants under the age of 18 must be able to provide copies of working papers and maintain good academic standing in order to be eligible for employment. All scheduled shifts for minors will be in compliance with local labor laws.
We’re a farm: All positions require physical demands including: standing/walking for long periods of time over uneven surfaces; exposure to heat, cold, or wet environments, working in and outdoors with exposure to the elements, repetitive motion such as lifting, kneeling, or bending; and carrying up to 50lbs at a time, with or without assistance.

Seasonal Farm Educator: Rolling start dates
Start anytime after May 19th start - end of August
Amber Waves Farm is seeking high-energy, creative educators to join our dynamic education team for the upcoming Spring, Summer, and Fall 2025 seasons. We're looking for passionate individuals with at least one year of experience working with children in a classroom or outdoor setting. Ideal candidates possess a strong work ethic, a love for connecting with children, and a desire to contribute to a meaningful mission. Flexible schedules are available, including morning and afternoon shifts, with some weekend work required.
The Amber Waves education team welcomes up to 10,000 visitors to the outdoor classroom each summer, creating a vibrant and welcoming atmosphere. Strong interpersonal skills are crucial, as educators frequently interact with the public. Maintaining a clean, safe, and inviting outdoor learning environment is a key responsibility.
Job Description
Our program primarily serves young children under four years old, while also offering engaging weekly classes for tweens, teens, and families of all ages. We utilize a science-based curriculum to foster a deeper understanding of the local food system. We are seeking passionate team players who are excited to share their knowledge creatively with the public, helping children connect with nature and learn about where their food comes from.
A key responsibility of this position is to assist lead educators in implementing a farm-based learning program that inspires children, families, and communities to connect with nature and understand the importance of sustainable agriculture.
Experience or a keen interest in farming, botany, environmental science, and garden management is highly valued.
Proficiency with Google Docs and the ability to quickly learn new scheduling software are beneficial.
All activities are carefully planned by our staff, following a weekly themed curriculum that reflects the farm's current season.
Educators may lead classes, present on farm topics (with full support), and ensure visitors to the outdoor classroom and kitchen receive a positive and engaging experience.
Extensive setup and breakdown are required for each class. Employees must be prepared to work outdoors in all weather conditions and are required to wear Amber Waves branded clothing.
Skills & Qualifications:
Passion for Our Mission: A genuine interest in and commitment to the mission of Amber Waves Farm.
Education & Experience: College degree, in process or equivalent work experience. Minimum of 1 year of experience working with children (ages 1-13) in a classroom, museum, or outdoor setting.

Physical Demands: This position requires standing and walking for extended periods, working outdoors in various weather conditions, and lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs occasionally.
Availability:
Mandatory attendance at in-person employee orientation on Saturday, May 18th, Saturday, June 15th, or Saturday, June 22nd, from 10 am to 4 pm.
Consistent availability from June 17th to the end of August.
Limited time off requests during peak season (Memorial Day to Labor Day).
Work Schedule & Compensation:
Schedule: Full-time or part-time, seasonal
Compensation: Salary, $16 - $24 DOE plus no cost pick your own vegetables, flowers and herbs
