Job Description:
As a Family Service Specialist, your primary responsibilities will include:
- Supporting families in crisis through DCFS programs including Family Habilitation Services, Visitation, and Housing.
- Providing transportation for parents and/or children to and from locations for supervised visitation.
- Working directly with families in the home, teaching and demonstrating homemaking skills, parenting skills, and utilizing effective resources.
- Preparing written reports and maintaining accurate records.
- Reporting all child abuse and neglect.
- Attending mandated trainings.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you must possess:
- A High school diploma or GED.
- An Associates degree or 2 years of child welfare experience.
- Be at least 21 years of age.
- Experience in social work, childcare, or working with families is preferred.
- Have a dependable automobile, a valid driver's license, and proof of auto insurance.
- Pass required background checks.
