BASIC FUNCTION:
The Patient Access Representative conducts professional patient interviews obtaining demographic, financial, and biographical information. This position is responsible for understanding insurance terminology, obtaining information to appropriately bill payers, verify patient insurance eligibility, confirm benefits eligibility, and gather statistical information in compliance with federal and state regulations. Complete payment transactions by using proper negotiating techniques to professionally collect money owed by our patients and guarantors, including making referrals to appropriate financial resources such as payment plans and lines of credit. This position is responsible for the delivery of quality performance and service excellence. Strong computer skills, critical thinking skills and the ability to multi-task in a fast paced work environment.
The Patient Care Technician (PCT) provides direct non-licensed nursing care to patients of all age groups admitted by following the direction of their assigned nurses in accordance with Amberwell Hiawatha policy and procedures.
SHIFT DAYS/HOURS:
Day Shift: 7am-7pm. Night Shift: 7pm-7am. PRN Shifts may vary between 8 and 12 hour shifts based on need and subject to directors approval. Days are dependent upon individual schedule. Weekend and holiday rotation required. Subject to change based on business necessity.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
Experience: None
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: Must possess strong customer service and verbal communication skills. Maintain compliance with HIPAA and patient confidentiality.
