Role: Senior Accountant – Canton, MA
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accountant with a strong background in project accounting. You will be responsible for managing the month-end close process, ensuring the accuracy and GAAP compliance of financial statements and assisting in the conversion to Microsoft Business Central ERP system. You’ll work alongside local Finance team members and the larger, enterprise-wide finance department supporting various financial projects. Responsibilities
- Lead the month-end close process, including preparing and reviewing journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements.
- Oversee project accounting activities. Work with sales team, utilizing Sales Force, to ensuring accurate tracking and reporting of project costs, revenues, and profitability. Ensure compliance with ASC-606 matching principle.
- Prepare and analyze financial reports, ensuring compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, providing insights and analysis to support decision-making.
- Maintain and enhance internal controls to ensure the integrity of financial data and compliance with company policies and regulations.
- Coordinate with external auditors and provide necessary documentation and support during audits.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the accounting function.
- Assist in the conversion to Microsoft Business Central ERP system, ensuring a smooth transition and integration with existing financial processes.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or CMA certification preferred.
- 5 years of accounting experience, with at least 3 years in project accounting.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks), Microsoft Business Central, and advanced Excel skills.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with various stakeholders.
