- Lead and mentor a small team of software engineers, fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration.
- Architect, develop, and enhance PHP/Symfony-based applications to support scientific workflows for variant identification, ranking, and reporting.
- Spearhead the integration of a third-party application in a cloud environment, ensuring smooth data flows and system interoperability.
- Work closely with business systems analysts (BSAs) and stakeholders to gather and translate requirements into well-defined technical solutions.
- Guide the team in designing scalable and maintainable solutions while ensuring system performance and security best practices.
- Troubleshoot complex issues, resolve bugs efficiently, and improve system reliability.
- Advocate for best practices in software engineering, code quality, and automated testing.
- Provide clear, accurate technical insights to cross-functional teams and leadership.
- Other duties as assigned
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field or equivalent work experience
- 10 years of experience in software engineering, with a focus on full-stack application development.
- Proven leadership experience, with the ability to lead by example and mentor engineers.
- Strong expertise in cloud-based solutions and experience integrating third-party software into existing systems.
- Extensive experience in building service-oriented architectures and designing RESTful API services to support scalable and maintainable applications.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical challenges efficiently.
- Effective communication skills, capable of articulating complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience and familiarity working in PHP/ Symfony, and or Java or Go.
- Experience working with relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, etc.) and NoSQL technologies (MongoDB, DynamoDB, Elastic Search etc.).
- Master's degree
- Experience in scientific, genomics, or healthcare-related applications is a plus.
- Experience designing, developing, and deploying cloud-native applications on public cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP

Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations.
