Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Anesthesia Assistant to support our medical team in a dynamic healthcare environment. The ideal candidate will assist the anesthesiologist with sedation in a dental setting ensuring patient safety. This role is crucial in ensuring that our operations run smoothly. We administer anesthesia to multi speciality practices with different patient populations including oral surgery, pediatrics, and special needs. MUST work well in a fast paced environment and under stress.
Duties
- Assist with offsite anesthesia cases in a dental setting.
- Maintains anesthesia supplies by establishing inventory on an as needed basis.
- Participate in turning over rooms assuring minimal downtime between cases.
- Supports the anesthesia provider by setting up anesthesia equipment, setting up IVs, oxygen tanks, tape, and setting up room per anesthesia checklist.
- Assist with IV access placement and removal.
- Assist with difficult airway management (nasopharyngeal airway placement, oropharyngeal airways, and airway maneuvers to ensure ventilation).
- Transport patients to and from operative rooms to recovery via assisted walking and wheelchairs.
- Manage care of patients in recovery until discharge.

Requirements
- 1 year of anesthesia, anesthesia tech, paramedic/EMT, critical care, or related experience.
- Experience working with pediatrics a plus.
- Works well under stress.
- Critical thinking.

Licensure and Certifications
- Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal
- ACLS, PALS
- BLS minimum
- One of the following: EMT/Paramedic/Anesthesia Tech
