Ambulatory Medical Practices MSO, Inc. is a management services organization that provides administrative and clinical support staff for ColumbiaDoctors Medical Group and ColumbiaDoctors of the Hudson Valley. ColumbiaDoctors is one of the largest multi-specialty practices in New York State, comprised of an experienced group of physicians specializing in Cardiology, Vascular Disease, Internal Medicine, Obesity, Podiatry, Gastroenterology, and Endocrinology. Our group is comprised of over 50 Columbia physicians treating patients throughout Westchester, Rockland, and Orange Counties. Job Summary: Answer and handle a high volume of telephone calls in an enthusiastic, courteous, professional manner. Take detailed messages, able to think and work on the fly! Schedule, reschedule, and cancel appointments. Obtain pertinent information from the patient (insurance and demographics) and enter information accordingly into the EPIC computer system.
Other responsibilities include but are not limited to; confirming appointments, go over office protocols with patients, provide a positive experience for our patients and be able to work as a team!
Education and Experience:
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Essential computer skills and abilities
- Strong and experienced background in answering phone calls, preferred
- Ability to work as a team member
- Empathetic with patients’ needs and concerns
- Attention to detail
Responsibilities:
- Knowledgeable of all physician’s specialties, schedules, insurances, insurance requirements and scheduling, per office protocols
- Schedule patient appointments for all practice physicians and locations
- Assist in rescheduling patients due to in-office schedule changes
- Triage patient complaints thoroughly when scheduling their appointment
- Enter or verify all personal and billing information when scheduling appointments for new or established patients
- Take detailed messages for clinical and support staff
- Assist Call Center Manager with other miscellaneous tasks
