Job Description ABOUT US AMC Networks is looking for a VP of Content & Audience strategy to drive growth for its new premium streaming bundle AMC , which includes linear networks AMC, BBC America, IFC and SundanceTV as well as targeted streaming services Shudder, Sundance Now, and IFC Films Unlimited. AMC offers curated exclusive and original programming that delivers on AMC’s track record of premium acclaimed dramas and exciting fan-driven franchises for passionate and discerning audiences. AMC launched last year and is growing at an explosive rate. Our dynamic group is focused on our growing our streaming services and super-serving our target audiences. You’ll be joining an entrepreneurial team in a fast-paced environment where you’ll be asked to react quickly to changes in our business and the streaming landscape, support decision-making with strategic analyses and recommendations, and devise and operationalize innovative programming and scheduling strategies to serve and grow our target audience segments. We’re looking for a candidate who has an innovative spirit, a results-oriented mindset, and both a collaborative and proactive personality that can drive initiatives forward in a matrix structure. JOB SUMMARY The VP of Content & Audience Strategy will be responsible for content curation, scheduling, and analysis to serve and grow our subscriber base. The role requires deep knowledge of and passion for scripted programming as well as the broader TV and streaming ecosystem to select content our subscribers will love and roll it out in a way that drives year-round engagement. The ideal candidate will also be data savvy, proficient in understanding and translating data into actionable insights that will further guide our content selection and scheduling strategy. S/he will be as passionate about our audiences as they are about our content – obsessive about understanding who they are, what kind of content they love, and how we can consistently deliver the good stuff for them. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Build integrated schedule for AMC that delivers on both acquisition and retention goals, in coordination with the linear scheduling teams and each of the targeted streaming services included in the bundle. Liaise with international teams to build and maintain regional content offerings with local appeal to drive AMC expansion internationally, focused on developing the originals slate, meeting local content quotas, and overseeing library refresh and maintenance Work closely with the work with the development and acquisition teams to screen and recommend content for the service. Proactively identify and offer recommendations for series and films based on understanding of audience and demonstrated content affinities. Analyze and report on content consumption, with insights and data-driven recommendations to inform strategy moving forward. Collaborate with research to conduct audience segmentations to profile and understand our viewers. Leverage understanding of audience to inform all scheduling/content decisions for the service. Work closely with marketing and merchandising teams to enthusiastically sell the content offering and strategy both internally and externally. QUALIFICATIONS (Required & Preferred) 10 years experience in the Media & Entertainment space, preferably at a network, studio, or streamer Deep knowledge of and passion for scripted programming. Previous experience in scheduling or programming research. Strong analytical skills, with ability to translate data into insights and strategy Expert in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, in addition to expert written and verbal communication skills. Ability to navigate a matrixed organization with key stakeholders and partners across various groups, and to lead by influence. Self-starter with a demonstrated ability to prioritize, manage ambiguity, and meet tight deadlines. Critical thinker, intellectually curious, with strong strategic thinking abilities.
