Day Warehouse Associate

Description

Team Sledd has a possible opening for a Day Warehouse Associate at our distribution center in Wheeling, WV. This position offers a Monday through Friday, 6:00am to 3:00pm schedule with weekends off. The average work week is 50 hours, with potential for overtime. The pay rate for this position is $12 per hour, depending on experience and placement.

Qualifications

JOB SUMMARY FOR A DAY WAREHOUSE ASSOCIATE:

You will be responsible for picking customer orders for shipment, ensuring the correct number and type of product is delivered to our customers. This includes walking in a specific area picking product from the rack.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS FOR A DAY WAREHOUSE ASSOCIATE:

• Ensuring the accurate receipt of merchandise from vendors as compared to purchase order number documents and bills of lading, sorting freight, detecting and reporting obviously damaged merchandise.
• Determining handling/processing requirements and directing shipments to appropriate locations.
• Required to use box cutter to open merchandise.
• Stocking merchandise throughout the warehouse by department and area.
• Unloading merchandise.
• Required to put returns away for the pick area you stock.
• Handling equipment safely, including the safe operation of non-power and power equipment.
• Operating tow motor if licensed and over 18 years of age.
• Perform other duties as assigned*

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS FOR A DAY WAREHOUSE ASSOCIATE:

• Ability to lift 40-60 pounds and to stand, bend and lift regularly
• Strong organization skills
• Ability to work closely with fellow employees and supervisors
• Ability to work independently and with little supervision
• Ability to recognize priorities and follow through
• 18 years of age or older, if operating power equipment
• 16 years of age or older, if operating non-power equipment
• Ability and willingness to work long hours during seasonal periods
• Must pass a background and drug screen
• Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS FOR A DAY WAREHOUSE ASSOCIATE:

• Forklift experience
