Job Description
Summary :
Assists in the monitoring and direction of the storeroom activities to ensure that parts and supplies are available when needed through timely ordering and receiving. Ensures that outstanding supply issues are followed up on and resolved. Verifies that the SAP system contains accurate parts information. Ensures that storerooms are organized and inventory records are accurate. The incumbent is also able to perform all the duties of the Maintenance Planner position to provide back-up support as needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Actively participates in plant safety training and activities to model the expectations of our plant safety culture
- Fosters a customer-focused environment that promotes superior customer service to internal and external customers
- Monitors use of storerooms and use of SAP by internal customers to ensure that established processes and procedures are being followed. Follow up to resolve issues as needed.
- Ensure that requisitions are being converted to purchase orders in a timely manner
- Ensure that purchase order discrepancies - price, description, SAP number, etc. - are being corrected.
- Monitor park list daily and ensure items are addressed in a timely manner. Address any internal issues for repeated parked list issues. Call venders as needed to address repeated PO or billing issues so not to be put on parked list.
- Suggests and with approval implements new work instructions or procedures as needed to improve department accuracy, work flow, and system constraints. Fosters a continuous improvement culture and drives for improved results.
- Facilitate / coordinate training for Purchasing Assistant and Maintenance Planner as requested in new job duties or department changes in a way that cultivates buy-in and team work.
- Manage parts in SAP by requesting SAP numbers for new parts, upgrading descriptions as needed, transferring parts to new numbers as old numbers become obsolete, and ensuring information record accuracy.
- Acts as the primary contact for storeroom activities to communicate information, assist in problem-solving and trouble-shooting, and acts as a general resource
- Audits daily cycle counts of PSPR and PNVLs
- Audits monthly cycle count reconciliation
- Participates in and ensures compliance with ProcurePlus projects and programs to maximum financial savings
- Tracks key metrics for the purchasing function and issues regularly scheduled reports to plant management
- Works closely with the Plant Controller to ensure that budgeted financial performance goals are achieved
