Job Description

This position is responsible for deploying, implementing and leading Continuous Improvement initiatives and facilitating Daily Lean Management methodologies for the plant. The incumbent is a member of the plant leadership team and will be assigned additional responsibilities in other functional areas as required to deliver the plant’s annual operating plan.

WHAT YOU GET TO DO

  • Facilitate deployment and integrate Daily Lean Management into the culture of the plant
  • Identify the highest value cost savings projects and coordinate the various project teams assigned to ensure proper resourcing to drive completion of projects
  • De recognized as a leader and problem solver in the plant by providing leadership and expertise that will solve problems and improve performance
  • Motivate, coach, and instil good leadership skills in engineers, supervisors, and hourly co-workers. Establish a strong presence on the floor to set and communicate expectations, standards, and evaluate results clearly
  • Initiate and lead co-worker training to further instil the continuous improvement skill set in the organization. Develop new processes and programs as needed to address gaps
  • Lead major projects as necessary to improve plant results
  • Be able to extract useful data from a variety of systems to use as tool to identify improvement opportunities
  • Coordinate the work necessary to improve our overall continuous improvement results as measured by regularly scheduled audits
  • Assist in generating reporting tools and progress reporting for the plant
  • Develop and utilize communication process to present the status and implementation of plant improvement projects
  • Lead project selection process and drive policy deployment so that all co-workers have a clear understanding of goals and objectives for a successful year
  • Drive change and overcome obstacles
  • Demonstrate and foster Amcor Core Values and actively contribute to a high-performance culture
  • Demonstrate ability to absorb new technologies and management techniques
  • Utilize an approachable and participative style of motivating co-workers to achieve higher standards and performance levels
  • Critical to onboarding new equipment and new business while meeting timelines
  • Lead training initiatives for Madison’s expansion project
  • Develop and maintain a progressive skills program
  • Maintain and improve cross-training and Train-the-Trainer programs
  • Create and maintain a skills development program for the shop floor leadership team
  • Development of SOP’s by partnering with senior operators

WHAT WE WANT FROM YOU

  • Bachelors Degree is required. Prefer a major in a technical background such as engineering or industrial technology.
  • 5 years of operations management experience is preferred
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook, SAP
