Job Description
Position Overview:
The Production Coordinator supports daily production operations, ensuring optimal productivity and quality standards for 2nd shift (6:45pm-7am). Working closely with the D Shift Production Supervisor, this role involves coordinating resources, monitoring production schedules, and maintaining documentation to support smooth, efficient workflows in the facility.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
- Safety
- Personally complies with all safety rules and regulations.
- Sets safety expectations with operators through example and daily interaction.
- Participates in safety meetings.
- Enforces safety rules and regulations.
- Ensures that acceptable housekeeping is maintained throughout the department.
- Quality
- Ensures that quality product is being produced at all times through setting quality expectations and hourly checks.
- Initiates ways to improve quality.
- Provides feedback to the appropriate individuals (QA team, supervisor, maintenance team.
- Follows up with “on hold” product, HFI area.
- Productivity
- Provides feedback to appropriate individuals to improve productivity, staffing, waste, rates, etc.
- Able to operator and thoroughly understand all equipment.
- Ensures that proper levels of materials are available to meet production needs and ensure continuous operations.
- Active in downtime prevention.
- Ensures materials are coordinated during line changeovers.
- As needed, accurately reports and inputs all daily production numbers.
- Teamwork
- Fills in for supervisor as needed.
- Works will with others on team and assists people as needed.
- Participates in all department meetings.
- Active in planning and facilitating.
- Ensures that adequate communication takes place within their team, between shifts, to their supervisors, and to other impacted departments.
- Works effectively with minimal amount of supervision.
- Provides guidance as needed to members of the work team.
- Trains employees as needed.
- Works with supervisor to participate in peer review process.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Education: High School Diploma or GED
- Additional technical or vocational training in manufacturing
- Two years' experience in a production or manufacturing environment.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced setting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook); experience with ERP systems is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills, with an emphasis on collaboration and attention to detail. Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety, GMP standards and quality assurance practices.
- Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Must possess effective teamwork and interpersonal skills.
- Must be capable of learning and successfully applying the SAP system.
- Must possess a high degree of attention to detail.
- Must be capable of working safely and effectively in a fast-paced, high quality manufacturing environment.
