THE ROLE :

Come join us to manage a team of software and performance engineers.

You'll work with the CSP teams and open-source communities to provide feedback on the performance of their software on EPYC based instances in the cloud. Drive joint debug and co-development of features and performance improvements to keep pace with and take advantage of AMD's hardware innovations in the CPU, GPU and accelerator product lines. You'll work with a variety of teams across the top global CSPs on their leading services across databases, media rendering / transcoding, services and inhouse software (first-party properties).

THE PERSON :

Are you passionate about software development and optimizations to eke out the highest performance from some of the most well-known and widely-deployed cloud-based software applications? Do you have a deep interest in the underlying algorithms and implementation details that affect the performance of monolithic applications or micro-service based architectures? Do you want to work with leading cloud-service providers (CSPs) tune and refactor their software for the next-generation cloud-based instances running on EPYC based server platforms? If you're interested in deep analysis and optimizations, then, you'll really enjoy this role!

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :

• You will lead the team on system and software configurations, typical application deployment for internal / first-party SaaS properties at cloud-service providers.
• You will interact with technical experts at major cloud-service providers to demonstrate performance and price-performance advantages of these applications running on AMD EPYC CPU-based instances.
• You will lead development and optimization across the software properties for multiple software applications managed in the cloud including running and reviewing performance data and benchmark results for these SaaS offerings.
• You will lead the team to analyze performance profiles, find and mitigate hotspots using industry-standard tools as well as tools specific to customer deployments.
• Deep knowledge of instances at major cloud-service providers is expected along with a strong knowledge of their configuration profiles on EPYC as well as competitive platforms to develop migration strategies.
