THE ROLE:
AMD’s Strategic Silicon Solutions group is responsible for custom silicon for advanced gaming platforms such as XBOX, PlayStation, and Steam Deck. As a Software Engineer in the Post-Silicon Power and Performance Optimization team, you will help us automate test execution and enhance our data analytics capabilities. To do this, you will partner with our central automation team to capture requirements, develop automated workloads, and create reports to summarize power and performance results.
THE PERSON:
We are looking for a software engineer with a background in computer architecture who enjoys working hands on with prototype systems and test equipment. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and has a passion for continuous learning and improvement.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Collaborate with colleagues across multiple sites to understand power and performance test procedures and methods for analyzing data.
Translate manual procedures into automated processes that can run as part of our internal automation framework.
Develop reports using Power BI or Sigma to automate the analysis of data generated through automated test execution.
Assist in maintaining and troubleshooting the automation framework and test setups.
Document test procedures, automation scripts, and data analysis methods.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
2-3 years of experience in software development, preferably related to post-silicon validation or test automation
Proficiency in languages such as Python, C#/C , Perl, or Ruby
Experience with automation frameworks and tools
Familiarity with data visualization tools like Power BI or Sigma
Understanding of computer architecture and power and performance metrics
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
- Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical or computer engineering

At AMD, your base pay is one part of your total rewards package. Your base pay will depend on where your skills, qualifications, experience, and location fit into the hiring range for the position. Salary : $77,350 - $143,650
