We are seeking a motivated Assistant Dispatcher to join our Dispatch Center team and ensure efficient daily operations while maintaining our high standards of service.
Role Overview: As the Assistant Dispatcher, you will report to the Lead Dispatcher and play a pivotal role in supporting the day-to-day activities of the Dispatch Center. Your responsibilities will include scheduling, fielding calls, overseeing the yard and warehouse, and assisting with securing permits.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the daily activities and operations within the Dispatch Center.
- Assist the Lead Dispatcher in preparing schedules and obtaining necessary permits
- Field calls from drivers, technicians, and operators regarding worksite and schedule concerns, including during after-hours, weekends, and holidays when required
- Oversee the yard, warehouse, and equipment, ensuring proper housekeeping and maintenance in collaboration with the Crane Foreman
- Coordinate with the Equipment Service Manager to ensure all equipment is serviced, maintained, and repairs are scheduled appropriately
- Communicate critical information about schedules, worksites, and permits to field crews, project managers, and the General Manager when needed
Skills and Specifications:
- Strong proficiency with MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams)
- In-depth knowledge of tools and equipment within the industry and their applications
- Excellent time management and prioritization skills
- Professional communication skills for phone, email, and other correspondence
- Commitment to providing exceptional customer service
Education and Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent qualification required; an Associate's degree is preferred but not mandatory.
- 1-2 years of experience in a dispatch or office management role.
