Join the Amego team and make a difference in the lives of the children we serve! The Amego school is seeking a caring and compassionate Registered Nurse to join the nursing team. The school nurse is an integral part of the nursing team that ensures the health and safety of the students. This role focuses on the implementation of medical care based on physician orders and existing health or emergency plans, supporting students’ medical needs within the school environment and ensuring compliance with established care protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
Implement physician-ordered medical treatments and procedures for students with special healthcare needs, as outlined in existing Individualized Healthcare Plans, Emergency Care Plans, or medical documentation.
Administer medications and perform treatments such as (but not limited to) G-tube feedings, insulin administration, seizure monitoring/intervention, catheterizations, or other care as required by a student’s current care plan.
Monitor students’ medical conditions throughout the school day and respond appropriately to any changes or emergencies.
Support classroom participation by ensuring necessary health accommodations are in place and followed.
Attend IEP meetings to provide medical information and ensure alignment with existing care plans.
Provide staff training on emergency procedures related to student-specific medical needs, as directed.
Maintain accurate, confidential, and timely documentation of all nursing activities in compliance with district policy and legal requirements (FERPA, HIPAA).
Serve as a point of contact between the school and healthcare providers or parents/guardians for clarifying existing medical instructions.
Assist with transportation-related medical support as needed for students with complex care needs.

Required:
Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in MA
CPR and First Aid Certification
At least 2 years of experience in pediatric, clinical, or school nursing
Experience working with children with disabilities and complex health needs
Preferred:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
Experience in a school setting or with IEP accommodations
Knowledge of special education systems and medical documentation protocols
Pay Range: $50,000-$75,000 based on experience, education and credentials
