Job Description Summary:

The Regional Clinical Outreach Director (RCOD) is responsible for leading a regional outreach/ business development team comprising up to ten Clinical Outreach Managers (COMs). This role focuses on achieving referral and revenue goals, fostering account growth, and driving overall success for Amen Clinics within the assigned region. The RCOD will design, implement, and manage regional sales plans, emphasizing individual and team development, strategic account growth, and the cultivation of new and recurring referral sources. Additionally, the RCOD will oversee customer satisfaction and market share growth while upholding the company’s standards for professionalism and ethical business practices.

This position requires direct engagement with healthcare and legal professionals, including but not limited to, therapists, physicians, attorneys, social workers, schools, churches, and executive coaches, to drive appropriate referrals. The RCOD will provide hands-on leadership, including in-person visits and coaching sessions with COMs to support targeted outreach. The RCOD is also responsible for recruiting, selecting, and developing a high-performing team through field coaching and ongoing professional development.

 To achieve these objectives, the RCOD will create annual and quarterly business development plans, setting clear goals, forecasting revenue, and monitoring progress against established metrics. Regular reporting to management, analysis of market trends, and competitive intelligence will guide strategic adjustments and ensure alignment with company goals. The RCOD must also cultivate excellent product knowledge and maintain an acute awareness of market conditions.

 As a key leader, the RCOD will collaborate extensively across the organization, engaging with internal stakeholders to support enterprise-wide objectives. This position requires residence within the assigned geographic region and adherence to the highest standards of professionalism and integrity.
 

Major Tasks, Duties and Responsibilities:

Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of Clinical Outreach Managers (COMs).
  • Recruit, hire, and train COMs, ensuring competency in the Amen Method, healthcare market, and account management.
  • Establish an environment of accountability, ethical practices, and high performance.

Sales Strategy & Performance

  • Set and execute the regional vision and business plan to achieve referral and revenue goals.
  • Monitor and report regional sales forecasts and performance metrics, ensuring alignment with company objectives.
  • Hit or exceed professional referrals and new referring professional goals for the region. 
  • Analyze market trends and competitive information to guide sales strategy and team actions.

Business Development & Account Management

  • Build and maintain relationships with key referral partners and customers through strategic outreach and in-person support.
  • Create and execute strategic business development plans tailored to regional needs.
  • Ensure COMs prioritize opportunities and improve results through efficient resource utilization and planning.

Training & Capability Development

  • Assess and enhance COMs’ skills through regular field evaluations and feedback.
  • Conduct regular meetings, including weekly 1:1s, monthly account reviews, and quarterly business reviews.
  • Facilitate ongoing training and coaching to optimize team performance and execution.

Event & Resource Management

  • Support regional and national events to strengthen relationships and expand outreach.
  • Maximize the regional budget to support strategic goals and drive business results.

Data Analysis & Reporting

  • Track and analyze territory and regional data to inform strategies and improve outcomes.
  • Ensure accurate and timely data capture and reporting in the CRM and other scorecards.
  • Provide clear, constructive communication to leadership regarding performance and revenue projections.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Collaborate closely with internal teams (e.g., marketing, clinic leadership, and sales leaders) to foster strong operational networks and support organizational goals.
  • Work closely with your direct supervisor.

Technical and Professional Competency

  • Proficient in MS Office, CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce), EHR/EMR, and database management.
  • Computer literacy in word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, and database systems.
  • Ability to learn quickly, grasp new concepts, and address unfamiliar challenges effectively.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required, ideally in business or related fields such as marketing or communications, master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of (7) years of cross functional experience in key roles (e.g., Sales, Clinical Outreach, Marketing, Strategic Marketing, or Business Development).
  • At minimum 3-5 years of management-related experience or prior direct leadership experience in the healthcare field; additional years preferred.
  • Proven history of success (5 years achieving goal or above) in a Clinical Outreach or Business Development role having consistent performance in complex markets with diverse customer segments.
  • Experience working in a fee-for-service environment preferred.
