DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The primary purpose of this position is to maintain and support accountability, serviceability, and allocation of all company and government-furnished vehicles in direct support of the USAF Academy BOS contract. The incumbent is to perform various mechanic functions such as, but not limited to: Maintains Vehicle Maintenance records to include but not limited to daily logs, monthly logs, and reports of all company and government-furnished vehicles and equipment. Briefs Vehicle Maintenance Supervisor or designee on the daily status report prior to submitting to program management. Initiates work orders for reported discrepancies and preventative maintenance to Vehicle Maintenance for repair and/or replacement. Monitors work orders to ensure timely completion. Maintains daily oversight of the Vehicle Maintenance key control. Conducts and documents semiannual inventory and ensure compliance with associated key control guidance, policies, and regulations. Briefs personnel on proper vehicle safety, usage, and maintenance reporting at monthly New Hire Orientations. Updates and maintains monthly mileage reports to be briefed to program management as appropriate. Ensures operator maintenance is performed and vehicle malfunctions are reported to Vehicle Maintenance. Take appropriate measures to prevent misuse, abuse, and damage to vehicles and equipment. Conducts and documents vehicle inspections to ensure assigned vehicles are serviceable and clean. Ensures appropriate vehicle inspection guide and report is utilized to perform all inspections. Ensure supplies, tools, and equipment for vehicles (such as highway warning kits, first aid kits, etc.) are maintained in each vehicle as appropriate. Initiate and properly route all Purchase Orders/Requests. Periodically checks in on the status of all ordered material/equipment to ensure timely completion of vehicle maintenance. Maintains a daily record of all Purchase Orders/Requests and associated Estimated Completion Date (ECD). Maintains vehicle leasing and insurance documentation as prescribed by applicable provisions. Ensures only qualified and properly trained company personnel operate assigned vehicles. Perform other related duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum of five (5) years’ experience and/or formal vocational/technical training providing knowledge, skill, and ability to perform the duties as identified above. Must possess and maintain a valid Colorado Commercial Driver’s License Class “A” required. HS Diploma or equivalent required. Technical school/certificate/degree preferred. Must be able to successfully complete a National Agency Check with Inquiries (Tier 1) background check. Must be able to successfully complete a drug/alcohol test and a criminal record check. Must have a safe driving record, as defined by Company policy, to operate a company vehicle. Must have practical knowledge of worksite safety, occupational hazards, and standard safety practices. Must be able to perform duties under adverse weather conditions (extreme cold/heat, etc.). Must be able to perform stand-by duties when scheduled and report to work within one hour of notification. Must be able to work alternate and extended shift schedules when necessary to meet the mission requirements of the customer to include weekends and holidays. Physically fit to bend, stoop, and lift in awkward positions and able to lift up to 60 lbs. Must possess the ability to work in a team or alone and be able to change jobs on short notice. PERFORMANCE STANDARDS Performs all assigned duties in accordance with established policies, procedures, and directives. Displays courtesy and skill in dealing with internal and external customers, coworkers, and management. Must communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Accurately maintains and updates records to enable quick and efficient retrieval of information. Follows up on suspense items to ensure timely completion. Consistently produces quality products and services. Ability to work independently while maintaining quality performance. Complete all training within the required timeline. Perform all work in a safe and secure manner. Demonstrates dependability in all aspects of work. Must be able to carry out oral and written instructions in an acceptable manner. Must follow prescribed standards of dress, hygiene, and conduct while representing the company. Resolves problems promptly with minimal adverse impact on the functional operation. TRAINING All formal and informal conferences, workshops, training, and seminars as deemed necessary by the supervisor or applicable to the position.
