AACOM (American Association of Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine) is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented, full-time Accounting Analyst to support our financial operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, assisting in the preparation of detailed financial reports, analyzing data, and managing budgets. What you’ll do
This role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, including general ledger entries, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and expense reporting. The position conducts regular account reconciliations, monitors budget performance, and prepares financial reports and presentations for internal departments and the Board of Deans. Additional responsibilities include managing grant funds in compliance with requirements, supporting audits and tax filings, ensuring adherence to GAAP and regulatory standards, and collaborating across departments to provide financial insights and improve internal controls.
Who we need
Our ideal team member will have the following:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field
- 1-2 years’ experience in accounting, finance, or a related field, including part-time roles, internships, or relevant coursework
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, including GAAP.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Familiarity with grant management and reporting.
- CPA certification or progress towards certification is desirable.
