Position Overview:
The Director will lead and manage large-scale programs in alignment with the Americas PMO (APMO) guidelines, ensuring successful delivery from strategic planning through to implementation. This is a high-visibility role, requiring experience in managing complex, cross-functional initiatives within the regulatory reporting landscape at large financial institutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead execution of key initiatives from project planning through to delivery, including development of target state business processes, technology solution adoption, and governance.
- Work across multiple functions and legal entities, managing end-to-end project efforts by understanding requirements, technologies, business strategy, and cross-functional impact.
- Deliver the target end state, ensuring governance, business process redesign, and appropriate controls are in place.
- Translate business needs into technology solutions and manage program execution through a structured approach.
- Oversee weekly status reporting, maintain the program's RAID log, and run working groups to ensure successful program delivery.
- Manage User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities and coordinate defect management and reporting in JIRA.
- Provide regular updates to senior management and key stakeholders.
- Oversee program and project-level resources, including third-party providers.
- Manage the career growth of direct reports and develop employees within the program.
Requirements:
- Significant experience in delivering major cross-functional initiatives at large financial institutions, including project planning, budgeting, and resource allocation.
- Expertise in Program Management and regulatory change management.
- In-depth understanding of finance, risk, operations, data processes, and the technologies that support them.
- Knowledge of financial products including Loans, Derivatives, Securities, and Repurchase Agreements.
- Strong business, analytical, quantitative, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Proven leadership experience, with a focus on team development and career growth in program and change management.
- Exceptional stakeholder management skills, particularly across multiple functions, committees, and areas.
- Excellent communication skills (both written and oral) for technical and non-technical audiences.
- Proficiency in project management methodologies and tools.
- Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment and quickly learn program objectives and PMO guidelines.
Candidate Profile:
- Director-level experience, ideally from a PMO background in a large financial institution or bank.
- Extensive experience managing multiple projects and workstreams within a large program portfolio.
- Background in risk management, with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing risks before they become issues.
- Familiarity with regulatory reporting and change management is highly desirable.
- Ability to influence and highlight areas for improvement in a program environment.
