Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled Hardware Control Systems Technician to provide support for the staging, wiring, testing, check-out, Factory Acceptance Testing, system breakdown, and make-ready for shipment of control systems. The ideal candidate should be proficient in reading electrical schematics and wiring diagrams, and experienced with Hardware cabinets, hardware, and system layout.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform cabinet and panel wiring
- Understand check-out procedures and use test and calibration equipment
- Troubleshoot system powering, cabinet/panel wiring, and control systems hardware
- Ensure compliance with control panel cabinet wiring standards, National Electrical Code, and ISO procedures
- Coordinate and work with engineering staff and customers as required by project needs
- Maintain safe working practices in staging floors and around powered equipment
- Travel as required during the start-up/check-out phase of projects
Qualifications:
- Experience: 2 years with hardware systems, 10 years in panel wiring and electrical/system check-out
- Training: hardware systems training
- Skills: Proficient in panel wiring, hardware layout, understanding electrical schematics and panel wiring diagrams, solid working knowledge of Factory Acceptance Testing procedures and techniques, knowledge of turbine and safety systems and equipment
- Attributes: Self-starter, able to work with limited supervision, strong English communication skills, team-oriented, able to follow instructions, and meet schedules
- Education: High School Diploma (GED) or equivalent technical schooling/job experience
Requirements:
- Ability to lift 50 lbs
- Computer literacy, including proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Access
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Availability to work overtime and weekends as required
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $28.00 - $35.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
