Qualifications
Have a high school diploma or equivalent
Have relevant industry experience (electronic, oilfield, automotive) with excellent mechanical aptitude (soldering electronic components, reading engineering diagrams, etc)
Show good mechanical skills, and the ability to multitask whilst using technical equipment
Be able to show good problem-solving, process improvement and analytical skills
Be proficient in reading and interpreting high and low voltage testing methods and procedures, blue-print drawings, and parts lists
Responsibilities
As a Cable Technician you will be responsible for inspecting, maintaining, repairing, and splicing ESP Cable.
Partnering with cross-functional teams to deliver successful projects and develop continuous improvements
Performs pressure and electrical tests on manufactured MLE
Completes and maintains associated paperwork and logs production time via computer
As a Cable Technician, you will be responsible for:
Supporting all aspects of cable services including spooling and testing electrical power cable utilized on ESP systems
Working to pre-defined procedures (SWI) in line with established work practices and quality standards
Assisting in incident investigations and troubleshooting and diagnosing cable issues
Assisting in the enhancement of maintenance processes, documentation, and quality
Required to operate overhead cranes, forklifts, and use a variety of hand and power tools
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Evening shift
- Monday to Friday
- Morning shift
- Overnight shift
- Weekends as needed
Experience:
- ESP cables: 2 years (Required)
- oil and gas: 1 year (Required)
- well pump cables: 2 years (Required)
- Submersible Power Cable: 3 years (Required)
