Forklift Operator/Material Handler

Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Forklift Operator to join our dynamic warehouse team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating various types of forklifts and heavy equipment to facilitate the efficient movement of materials within the warehouse. This role requires a strong understanding of safety protocols, including OSHA regulations, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklifts including clamp trucks and cherry pickers to move, locate, and stack materials.
• Perform materials handling tasks, ensuring that products are stored and retrieved safely and efficiently.
• Utilize RF scanners to track inventory levels and manage stock within the warehouse management system.
• Conduct routine inspections of equipment to ensure proper functioning and adherence to safety standards.
• Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to optimize workflow and maintain operational efficiency.
• Assist in loading and unloading trucks using pallet jacks and other equipment as needed.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all safety protocols.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Forklift Operator or in a similar role within a warehouse setting.
• Familiarity with various types of forklifts, including clamp trucks, cherry pickers, and pallet jacks.
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations related to heavy equipment operation and materials handling.
• Ability to operate heavy equipment safely and effectively in a busy environment.
• Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
• Experience using warehouse management systems is preferred but not mandatory.
• Must be able to pass any required background checks or certifications related to forklift operation.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Evening shift
• Morning shift
• Overtime

Education:

• High school or equivalent (Required)

Experience:

• Forklift: 2 years (Required)
• Warehouse: 2 years (Required)
• Electric pallet jack: 1 year (Required)
