Overview
We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Forklift Operator to join our dynamic warehouse team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating forklifts and other material handling equipment to efficiently load, unload, and transport materials within the warehouse. This role requires a strong understanding of warehouse operations, safety protocols, and mechanical knowledge to ensure smooth logistics processes.
Duties
- Operate forklifts and clamp trucks to load and unload materials from trucks and storage areas.
- Safely transport goods throughout the warehouse while adhering to all OSHA safety regulations.
- Assist in shipping and receiving processes, ensuring accurate documentation of all incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Perform regular inspections and maintenance on forklifts and other equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to coordinate order picking and inventory management tasks.
- Execute heavy lifting tasks as required, ensuring proper techniques are used to prevent injury.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, following all safety protocols to minimize hazards.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Forklift Operator or in a similar role within a warehouse setting.
- Valid forklift certification is preferred; OSHA training is a plus.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot minor equipment issues.
- Experience with shipping and receiving processes is highly desirable.
- Ability to operate order pickers and other material handling equipment effectively.
- Must be capable of performing heavy lifting tasks (up to 50 pounds) as needed.
- Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $16.00 - $19.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
