Job Details: Looking for candidate who has Teller experience. This position requires a candidate to work independently with little supervision.

The Member Services Representative serves as a liaison between the member and the credit union. In their position they will:

  • provide account information by phone or in person, as well as information on the full range of credit union products and services
  • Open accounts for members
  • Solve member issues and professionally handle the member’s daily needs
  • Provide credit union services in accordance with credit union procedures
  • Maintain all member information in a secure manner

This position interacts with the public and requires a detail-oriented, service-oriented and friendly candidate.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Greet and welcome members and visitors to the credit union in a professional manner. Provide prompt, efficient and accurate service in the processing of transactions.
  • Respond to member requests, concerns and questions as they are presented i.e. email, phone calls, walk-ins, member relationship software, call centre tickets, etc. in a professional and timely manner.
  • Assist members with their plastic card related issues including mailing cards, if necessary.
  • Open new accounts and service existing accounts. Set up new account files and provide members with all necessary information for membership.
  • Promote credit union products and services based on member’s needs.
  • Perform account maintenance on member accounts when requested, with proper documentation/authorization.
  • Will act as a backup to the Teller Line.
  • Promote and explain other credit union services as needed.
  • Answer telephones; provide members with information as requested.
  • Ensure propriety and confidentiality of members’ information.
  • Ensure compliance with policies and procedures, rules and regulations including but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act and the Office of Foreign Assets Controls.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years of customer service with a financial institution required
  • Previous cash handling experience required
  • Mental and/or Emotional Requirements:
  • Perform job functions independently or with limited supervision and work effectively either on own or as part of a team.
  • Read and carry out various written instructions and follow oral instructions.
  • Speak clearly and deliver information in a logical and understandable sequence.
  • Use basic math skills and spell accurately up to a high school graduate level.
  • Capable of dealing calmly and professionally with numerous different personalities from diverse cultures at various levels within and outside of the organization and demonstrate highest levels of customer service and discretion when dealing with the public.
  • Perform responsibilities with composure under the stress of deadlines / requirements for extreme accuracy and quality and/or fast pace.
  • Effectively handle multiple, simultaneous, and changing priorities.
  • Capable of exercising highest level of discretion on both internal and external confidential matters.All candidates must pass a credit history check to be considered for this position.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Day shift
  • Monday to Friday

  • Universal Bank Teller: 5 years (Required)
  • Bank Teller: 6 years (Required)
  • Customer service/ Teller: 5 years (Required)
  • Lead teller: 5 years (Required)
