Chemical Engineer - Water Treatment
Description

We are seeking talented individuals to fill a role in our water treatment department. A candidate should have a solid educational background, attention to detail, and the ability to analyze and troubleshoot challenges in the water treatment process.
This position involves working under supervision from the water department supervisor, but also requires independence and self-motivation to perform tasks effectively.
Examples of key responsibilities:
- Technical Skills:
- Develop or assist with developing process control systems, controls logic, field planning, and communications for new process automation projects and upgrades.
- Provide instrumentation and process control strategy and practical solutions for new process engineering projects and process upgrades.
- Analyze data and trends to identify issues or potential improvements in the water treatment process and implement necessary corrective actions.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Ability to develop relationships with vendors, suppliers, customers, and other external contacts.
- Prepare various engineering deliverables such as Process Flow Diagrams, P&IDs, Process Datasheets, Equipment Specifications, Cause & Effect Diagrams, control philosophies, shutdown philosophies, HAZOP Studies and reports, Operation Maintenance manuals, and providing necessary engineering inputs to the other disciplines and departments.
- Field Experience:
- Witness firsthand the systems and machinery set in place to treat water by conducting site visits and inspections.
- Business Development:
- Meet with clients alongside the supervisor to support business development activities and explore new opportunities.
- Licenses and/or Certifications:
- Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree:
- Education: Degree major must be in Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Chemistry, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or another similar discipline.
- Work Experience: Not required, training will be learned on the job.

- Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Communication, time management, persistence.
- Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, etc.,)
- Ability to pass a medical for onsite working.
- 75% of the employee's time will be spent in a traditional office setting with access to coffee, refreshments, and monthly office events.
- 25% of the employee's time will be spent out in the field where he/she may be occasionally exposed to outdoor weather conditions, extreme noise, odors, heights, dust, and hazardous material.
- The employee may be required to operate plant machinery to gain a greater insight to the inner workings of the department and water treatment (training and personal protective equipment will be provided).
