We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Cost Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing and analyzing costs, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and supporting budgeting and forecasting processes. This position requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, cost management, and proficiency in accounting software systems.

Responsibilities
- Provide knowledge in development and continuous improvement of the costing process
- Report cost accounting information to management as deemed necessary for management decisions
- Analyze cost accounting information for the purpose of providing recommendations to management
- Enter costs for all new purchased items in Oracle on a daily basis
- Roll and update costs for all new make items in Oracle on a daily basis
- Provide actual cost vs. standard cost comparisons for quotes/renewals as needed
- Works with purchasing team to establish current prices for purchased items for cost updates on all items on a yearly basis
- Responsible for all month-end closing activities concerning inventories and variances
- Reconciles all inventories to the general ledger
- Reconciles all copper rod purchases and makes sure all transactions are performed properly and on time
- Accrue/Reconcile copper scrap recovery and enter journal entry
- Calculate Weighted Average Copper (WAC) and enter journal entry
- Set up general ledgers accounts for inventory and variance accounts as needed
- Performs at risk inventory analysis including aged, short and excess inventory categories and calculate appropriate reserves based on the analysis
- Coordinates inventory observations with auditors and materials team
- Coordinates consigned inventory confirmations with auditors and distribution partners
- Provides auditors with all information concerning inventories and variances
Qualifications
- BBA Degree - Preference given for Accounting or Finance
- 1 - 2 years of previous experience in Cost Accounting in a manufacturing operation
- Strong knowledge of general ledger reconciliation and account reconciliation practices.
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively convey financial information.
