Location: Greater Fayetteville, NC area
Job Description: As a Part-Time Sign LanguageInterpreter, you will facilitate communication between hearing and deaf orhard-of-hearing individuals in various settings, including meetings,appointments, and events. Your role is crucial in ensuring that all parties canfully participate and understand the information being shared.
Responsibilities:
- Interpret spoken language into American Sign Language (ASL) and vice versa.
- Provide accurate and clear interpretations in a variety of settings.
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure effective communication.
- Stay updated on best practices and developments in sign language interpretation.
Qualifications:
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL).
- Certification from a recognized interpreting program (preferred).
- Previous experience as a sign language interpreter (preferred).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
