Amergis Educational Staffing is partnered with a school in Whitman Hanson, MA who is currently seeking a Special Education Teacher to work with students on a contractual basis.
Details of the Position Include:
Location: Whitman Hanson, MA
Start Date: ASAP
Duration: Contracted through the end of the 2025 school year
Schedule: Monday- Friday 9:05-3:10 (flexible schedule if needed)
Requirements:
– Bachelors Degree Required
– Masters Degree Preferred
– MSN Licensure: Preferred (Not Required)
Note: The school is willing to accept unlicensed candidates who meet the following criteria.
· Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field
· Experience leading a special education classroom in some capacity (examples: previously waivered, maternity coverage, etc.)
· Experience working with ASD students
Description: We are looking for a special education teacher to lead a classroom of 6 students in an ASD substantially separate setting. The role involves developing and writing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), tracking and monitoring progress on IEPs, and attending IEP meetings. Additionally, you will be responsible for creating and implementing lesson plans. Support will be provided to those on a waiver as needed.

The Special Education Teacher, under the direction of the Special Education Program Administrator provides quality services to special education students, kindergarten through grade 12. The Special Education Teacher has a commitment to team participation in planning and implementation of student programs including special instruction, tutorial assistance and consultation with general education staff.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university preferred
- Valid state teaching certificate as required by state, contract/district regulations
- Minimum of one year experience in teaching environment preferred
- State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Elementary Teaching preferred
- State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Secondary Teaching preferred
- State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Special Teaching preferred
- Endorsement: Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) preferred
- Current CPR if applicable
- TB Questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
- Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
- Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
