The Special Education Teacher, under the direction of the Special Education Program Administrator provides quality services to special education students, kindergarten through grade 12. The Special Education Teacher has a commitment to team participation in planning and implementation of student programs including special instruction, tutorial assistance and consultation with general education staff.
Job Details:
- Location: Santa Barbara, California
- Start date: ASAP or August 2025
- Assignments available for 25/26 school year
- Assistant with finding housing offered
- Housing and meal stipends included
- Age groups: Elementary, preschool, junior high, or high school
- 37.5hrs/week
- Pay: $3,670 weekly gross income ($1,945/weekly in stipends and $1,725/weekly in taxable wages)
- Will accept out of state extensive support needs SPED credential, must be willing to apply for CA credential
- Reimbursement for applicant fees offered
Minimum Requirements:
- Extensive support needs credential (also known as moderate/severe credential) is required
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university preferred
- Valid state teaching certificate as required by state, contract/district regulations
- Minimum of one year experience in teaching environment preferred
- California Teaching Credential; Type: Extensive Support Needs or Moderate/Severe SPED Credential Required
- Endorsement: Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) preferred
- Current CPR if applicable
- TB Questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
- Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
- Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
