What are the responsibilities and job description for the Classroom Behavior Technician position at Amergis?
What do Amergis Behavior Technicians do?
• BTs facilitate teacher led instruction
• Review and implement Behavior Intervention Plans
• Perform ABA related teaching strategies
• Amergisize safety during crisis behavior
• Support during transitions and alternative environments
Minimum Qualifications and Requirements
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent
• A minimum of 1 year of experience in working with children with special needs
• Must have desire to work with adolescents with behavioral challenges
• Must have reliable transportation
Qualification and Training
•Amergis BTs will go through a training program created by a BCBA specifically for school settings.
•Our training program provides a review of ABA principles and strategies to manage common and severe student behaviors
•Upon completion of training, Amergis BTs are prepared to respond to crisis behaviors, implement de-escalation strategies, and manage post crisis evaluations
