Position Title: MRI Tech
Position Description: Actual Hours: Monday – Friday 2pm – 10:30pm MRI tech scanning, screening patients, flipping rooms, breast procedure experience a plus. Reports to MRI Manager or Chief Imaging Technologist/Immediate Supervisor. Performs Diagnostic magnetic resonance imaging of organs, organ systems and blood flow studies. Provides radiologists with images necessary to obtain diagnostic results so that a comprehensive diagnostic report is available to referring physician. Orients physicians, residents, staff and student technologist in objectives and applications of magnetic resonance imaging and safety. Assists nursing staff in area e.g. witnesses nursing staff in wasting medication and documents in Pyxis. Requires completion of an AMA approved program in Radiologic Technology or equivalent, which normally is acquired in a two-year college or technical school program. Prefer one year experience in an imaging modality. ARRT (R) (MRI) certified or ARMIT with current registration required. CPR
The MRI Technologist uses magnetic resonance imagingscanners and related equipment to capture specific images ordered by aphysician to aid in patient diagnosis.
Minimum Requirements:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in the radiology field
- Registered with the ARRT; if required by state regulationsor contract specification.
- One (1) one year of experience in related field preferred
- Current CPR if applicable
- TB Questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
- Current Health certificate (per contract or stateregulation)
- Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
