What are the responsibilities and job description for the RN School Needed position at Amergis?
The School Nurse assumes responsibility and accountability for the application of the nursing process and the delivery of student/client care and/or contracted services in a school setting. The School Nurse may also be in a supervisory position within the contracted services. The School Nurse provides services in accordance with Amergis Healthcare’s philosophy, standards, policies and physician orders.
Minimum Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited registered, practical or vocational nursing program
- Licensed as a Licensed Practical, Licensed Vocational or Registered Nurse in state(s) where practicing
- One year of professional experience, preferred
- Current CPR
- PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
- Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
- Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
General Comments
School RN – 10 Openings
- Location: School assignments determined during orientation. Must be comfortable working anywhere in DC.
- Requirements: At least 1 year of experience as an RN in a clinical setting (homecare and vaccinations only will not suffice). Active DC RN license. Previous school nursing experience preferred or experience with pediatric population.
- Additional Details: Nurses will be assigned to a single school or a cluster of schools within a small radius. Schedule is typically shared 2 weeks in advance.
- Contract/Hours: Minimum of 13 weeks, Amergisum through the end of the school year. . M-F, 8a-4:30p.
- Pay Rate: RN – $50/hour
