WORKING HOURS: We have 2nd shift and 3rd shift options available. 2nd shift is 3:30pm to midnight. 3rd shift is 11pm to 7am.

5 years experience on CNC mills or lathes.
Must be capable of setting up, modifying programs, running, and using QC gages to check the part independently.
Cannot be a button-pusher machinist.
This role takes some skill and must be able to run independently within a month of being hired on.
We are specifically looking for people that have a strong background with Conversational Programming or Conversational Machining.
CNC Machine Brands DMG Mori, Cincinnati, Mazak, Weiler, Tacchi, Doosan, a few others.
Styles - Fanuc and Seimens controls. Some G-code, conversational, others more complex.
Programming abilities - operators required to be able to read the program and make any modifications if necessary, such as offsets or adding basic features.
You'll receive some training/familiarization and then test them after 1 month to be able to fully run (and modify a program at machine), and quality inspect your own parts. These are 1-off parts, nothing is high volume. The opposite of button pushing.
We are looking for a CNC Machinist with specialized skills to run low quantity parts with less than ten pieces per order and a high variety of component types/sizes. Machinists are required to operate one CNC machine at a time and willing to work 2nd or 3rd shift with limited supervision.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Machinist responsibilities include program editing, loading, running, and full QC check, all independently. This is not a ?machine operator? position.
- Set up and run CNC machine (CNC lathe, CNC Mill, or 5-axis machine) using good machining, quality, and safety practices.
- Adjust offsets for tools to hold tolerances as low as .0005.
- Setup and use precision measuring equipment such as .0001 indicators, dial or electronic bore gages, gage blocks, inside an outside micrometer, depth mics, dial calipers, etc.
- Assists during prove outs, adjusting feeds, speeds, etc. to establish a program, which will run without operator intervention. Should be capable of editing programs and communicating changes to the Programmer.
- Performs daily, weekly, and other scheduled minor preventative maintenance tasks such as filling of spindle/way lube and maintaining coolant supply.
- Maintains good housekeeping practices.
- Is alert and attentive to the machine performance and operation.
- Communicates with other Shift Operators on machine and tool operations and on scheduling plans to provide smooth cell operation.
- Communicates with support personnel to offer suggestions for improvements in tool life, part quality, productivity, communication, work cell appearance etc. to better overall performance.
Basic Qualifications:
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Minimum of 3 years? experience on CNC turning and/or milling centers.
- Must have the ability to communicate easily with Supervisors, Programmers, and other shift personnel.
- Must have a practical knowledge of cutting tools.
- Must be capable of reading blueprints, programs, and sketches.
- Must be familiar with and be able to use precision measuring equipment.
- Must be alert, conscientious, and capable of adapting to new concepts in machining.
- Ability to work independently or self-directed.
- Physical demands include standing at the machine for up to 8-10 hours per day, frequent lifting up to 10 lbs. with occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.
