Casa Herrera - Sheet Metal Worker
Position Summary
Working closely with the Sheet Metal Lead the Sheet Metal Worker I sets up and operates machine tools and fits and assembles parts to make or repair metal parts, mechanisms, tools or machines. Determines dimensions and tolerance of piece to be fabricated, sequence of operations and machines required by studying specifications, such as blueprint, sketches. Plans and executes assignments using machine tools ranging from shear, break, punch, notcher, and plasma punch.
Essential Job Duties
Read work plans and specifications to lay out, measure and mark the sheet metal
Operate various types of equipment including hand and power tools and light metalworking machines to cut, bend, punch, shape or form the metal in other ways
Fit, join and fasten the sheet metal parts to construct the final products or installation pieces
Finish products and check that they meet quality, safety and other standards and specifications
Repair and maintain sheet metal work
Scan all job orders through the Made2Manage (M2M) system
Other Duties
Report deviations from specifications and tolerances to the Lead
Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Completion of an apprenticeship program or a combination of one year sheet metal work experience in the trade and some college or industry courses preferred
Ability to read and use a tape measure
Possess effective organization and time management skills, be detail oriented, use good judgment, manage competing priorities for multiple projects and consistently meet all deadlines

Must be organized, reliable, punctual, adaptable and flexible
Demonstrate a positive professional demeanor and dress
Adhere to all company policies
