Job Title: Hotel Housekeeper
Job Summary:
A hotel housekeeper is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and organization in guest rooms and common areas. Their primary duties include cleaning rooms, changing linens, replenishing supplies, and ensuring a high standard of hygiene and comfort for guests.
Key Responsibilities:
- Guest Room Cleaning:
- Make beds and change linens.
- Dust and wipe down furniture, windows, and surfaces.
- Vacuum and mop floors.
- Clean and sanitize bathrooms, including toilets, sinks, showers, and mirrors.
- Restocking & Supply Management:
- Replenish toiletries, towels, and other guest amenities.
- Replace used bedding and ensure all supplies are well-stocked.
- Common Area Maintenance:
- Clean and tidy hotel lobbies, hallways, and public areas.
- Empty trash bins and dispose of waste properly.
- Laundry Duties:
- Collect, wash, dry, fold, and distribute hotel linens and towels.
- Reporting & Coordination:
- Report any maintenance issues (broken fixtures, leaks, etc.) to the housekeeping supervisor.
- Notify management of any lost or found items in guest rooms.
- Follow hotel safety procedures and health regulations.
- Customer Service:
- Respond to guest requests for extra items or special cleaning needs.
- Maintain a friendly and professional attitude toward guests and colleagues.
Qualifications & Skills Required:
- No formal education required, but a high school diploma is preferred.
- Prior housekeeping or cleaning experience is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
- Good physical stamina for standing, bending, lifting, and moving objects.
- Ability to work independently and in a team.
- Time management skills to complete tasks efficiently.
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and safety procedures.
Work Environment:
- Typically works in hotels, resorts, or lodges.
- Requires standing for long hours, bending, lifting, and working with cleaning chemicals.
- May need to work weekends, holidays, and shifts, depending on hotel occupancy.
