We are seeking a highly organized and experienced IT Applications Engineer to serve as an expert technical resource contributing to the enterprise’s strategic technology vision. The ideal candidate will contribute directly to technology architecture, software and integration development and will serve as a key strategic business partner to business units. This position is a Hybrid role based in Madison, WI.
Responsibilities:
Business Relationships
- Serve as a strategic business partner for the business, understanding and translating business needs into actionable IT strategies and solutions
- Bridge the gap between technical capabilities and business requirements by providing in-depth product knowledge and demonstrating how the solution can address specific business challenges and needs
- Conduct in-depth analysis of current business systems and applications, identifying areas for improvement and integration to enhance efficiency and productivity
- Serve as the technical lead for the NimbleAMS platform, ensuring its capabilities are fully leveraged to meet business objectives
- Design and propose optimal business processes and technology solutions, aligning with the organization's goals and industry best practices
- Establish strong relationships with cross-functional teams, including project managers, development teams, and business stakeholders, to facilitate effective communication and understanding of business requirements, ensuring successful project outcomes
- Responsible for clear communication and understanding between business units and IT stakeholders
Strategic Planning
- Own and develop of the comprehensive strategy for the enterprise technology vision that aligns with the organization's mission, vision, and goals. Collaborate with key stakeholders to define strategic priorities.
- Provides a progressive and well-informed perspective regarding IT best practices and how IT can evolve to best serve the organization
- Identifies new and innovative technologies and drives their adoption in alignment with enterprise priorities
- Balances innovation, efficiency and cost-effective solutions with a focus on technology that enhances our advocacy, product delivery, internal operations, and the member experience
- Responsible for the development of our long-term technology and business capability roadmaps. Helps to enable business process efficiency, anticipating future business needs and incorporating industry advancements and best practices.
Technical Expertise
- Lead, prioritize, and own the overall enterprise architecture approach for IT and the organization
- Contribute directly to the software development and integration efforts for our products and solutions
- Applies technical expertise and knowledge of best practices to guide IT and the business on issues related to the design, development, deployment and support of mission-critical information, applications and infrastructure
- Responsible for understanding business objectives and recommending sound and innovative technical solutions to meet those needs
- Create and maintain detailed technical documentation, architectural diagrams and workflows
- Report on project progress, challenges, and outcomes to internal and external stakeholders
- Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies to recommend enhancements
Problem Solving & Innovation
- Serve as a peer-leader, encouraging a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and accountability while adhering to best practices
- Maintain a forward-looking approach to ensure innovation and best-in-class solutions and systems
- Diagnose and troubleshoot complex technical issues with creative solutions
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Data Management, Computer Science or related field
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience
- 3 years of experience managing AMS/CRM solutions (NimbleAMS, iMIS, Fonteva, Salesforce or similar) in an association or nonprofit organization
- Expert understanding of association management systems (AMS) and/or customer relationship management (CRM) systems, including data models, workflows, and integrations
- Preferred: NimbleAMS and Salesforce (or other AMS’ such as iMIS or Fonteva)
- Strong understanding of data integrity, security protocols, and enterprise IT standards
- Experience in application systems, data design, and deployment methodologies and techniques, and other architectural competencies including security and infrastructure design and deployment
- Strong understanding of software integration tools to connect different applications, data sources, and systems across the enterprise
- Preferred: Boomi (or other integration tools such as Informatica or Mulesoft)
- Experience supporting cross-functional teams in developing and maintaining enterprise systems and integrations
- Ability to lead and influence internal and external stakeholders across multiple levels of the organization
- High levels of technical skill and IT expertise, integrity, honesty, and the courage to make difficult yet necessary decisions
- Ability to think strategically and act pragmatically
- Proven leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders
- Ability to articulate your vision in the form of detailed technical documentation, architectural diagrams and workflows
- Familiarity with system reporting tools and data management processes
- Preferred: PowerBI, Snowflake
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities
- Strong oral and written communication skills

Salary : $95,000 - $115,000
