What are the responsibilities and job description for the 1:1 SPECIAL EDUCATION INSTRUCTIONAL ASSOCIATE (6.5 hr. position)-To fill vacancies and create an eligibility list position at America's Finest Charter School?
America’s Finest Charter School is looking for a 1:1 aide to assist a Special Education student in the areas of academic skills, behavior challenges and social/emotional development.
The aide should have experience in the ABA methods and working with students with challenging behaviors. The aide will support the implementation of the student’s IEP goals (academic, behavior, and social/emotional) and adaptation/modification of the core curriculum.
The Special Education 1:1 Aide will work directly under the supervision of a credentialed Ed Specialist.
Essential Functions of Special Education Aide:
- Implement direct instructional support to student and attend classes with the student.
- Adapt classroom activities, assignments and materials to provide an opportunity for special education student to participate in general education classroom activities.
- Collect data and maintain records on student’s progress toward IEP goals.
- Act as a cooperative team member in working with school staff, students and families.
- Model appropriate social skills, participation and problem-solving skills.
- Assist in managing student behavior by applying proactive and positive strategies when helping a student with behavioral concerns.
