Position Title: IT Field Support and Cable Technician

Position Purpose and Objectives
This position is responsible for installing, maintaining, and supporting the IT infrastructure and equipment across all ATS locations. Key responsibilities include ensuring network efficiency and stability organization-wide, as well as traveling to various locations to handle installations and troubleshooting as needed. As a vital part of the IT Team, this role ensures that technology and networks are consistently operational and ready for use throughout the organization. While based at the America's Thrift Stores Store Support Center in Irondale, AL, there may be opportunities for partial remote work.
Roles and Responsibilities
Manage and provide technical support for office computers, servers, POS systems, printers, and other office equipment.
Configure and install network hardware, PCs, LAN and standalone printers, modems, and related peripherals.
Set up and configure PA systems, including commercial speakers, speaker wiring, and amplifiers.
Install, repair, and maintain Cat6 and shielded Cat6 cables.
Perform RJ45 and Keystone terminations, including installation and repair.
Utilize remote access tools to support computer systems remotely.
Develop and maintain up-to-date network maps for all locations.
Install and manage temporary PA systems for company events.
Travel frequently, including occasional overnight trips, to support various sites.
Maintain an accurate inventory of cabling and related equipment.
Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safety standards.
Deliver exceptional service to internal and external customers.
Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Skills and Qualifications
Strong time management skills are essential.
Must have reliable transportation.
Ability and readiness to operate a scissor lift at heights of 30 feet are required.
Scissor-lift certification is required, or a willingness to obtain certification.
Familiarity with cabling standards is preferred.
Experience with helpdesk software, such as Zendesk, is preferred.
Possession of an IT certification, or willingness to achieve one, is preferred.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to support internal customers and project stakeholders effectively.

Physical Demands:
Occasionally - Carrying up to 50 lbs., pushing and pulling up to 25 lbs., lifting up to 50 lbs., climbing up to 14-foot height, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, handling and smelling.
Frequently - Walking on tile/concrete, bending, feeling, and reaching waist/overhead level.
Continuously - Standing on tile/concrete, talking, seeing, and hearing.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, reach, stoop, kneel, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, telephone, and keyboard.
Other:
Mostly regular and weekend hours, occasionally working evenings and holiday hours as needed.
Working environment includes inside of building with controlled temperatures and outside conditions with varying weather and temperatures.
