Position Purpose and Objectives
The Operational Financial Analyst is responsible for collecting, reporting, analyzing / interpreting, and presenting key financial information to business partners and other associated staff within and outside of the Finance Department. The Operational Finance Analyst plays a pivotal role in supporting the financial health of the organization by working with our business partners to help them make better decisions with planning and execution, which helps impact our financial performance. This position involves close collaboration, communication, and building trusted relationships with various departments to ensure processes and performance align with our strategic goals.

Position Purpose and Objectives

Roles and Responsibilities
- Provide financial analysis and guidance in direct support of operational business partners.
- Work with accounting business partners to ensure financial accuracy and reporting integrity.
- Improve efficiency for reporting processes and the effective usage of available data to help guide business decisions.
- Participate and lead where needed, on monthly and annual planning activities with business partners and analysis of approved plans.
- Work closely with the IT team to implement system and reporting upgrades that streamline information to our business partners.
- Conduct detailed financial analyses to support decision-making, such as variance analysis, and scenario modeling.
- Provide insights into key financial metrics and trends.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify areas for operational improvement and cost optimization.
- Recommend and implement process enhancements to drive efficiency.
- Track budget versus actual performance and provide explanations for variances.
- Generate regular and ad-hoc financial reports for internal use.
- Communicate complex financial information in a clear and understandable manner.
- Advanced MS Excel skills (Pivot tables, Vlookup, Sumif, VBA, etc).
- SQL experience a plus.
- Proficiency with preparing and modeling financial ratios and analytics.
- Previous experience with NetSuite or other ERP system, preferred.
- Must possess a high degree of initiative and resourcefulness in completing work assignments with limited guidance in a changing environment.
- Strong problem solving/ analytical skills.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to present findings to non-financial stakeholders.
- Experience Building Relationships with Business Partners.
- Detail-oriented and able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Working knowledge of financial data: forecasting, reporting and analysis experience.
- Must be detail oriented with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and projects and complete assignments efficiently and accurately.
- Excellent presentation, communication (both oral and written) and interpersonal skills.
- Successful completion of background check, motor vehicle check, and drug screen.
- Minimum Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 4 years of experience in financial analysis, operational finance, or related roles.
- Proficiency in financial modeling and data analysis tools.
- Preferred:
- Master's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration.
