Retail Housekeeping Team Member - Prattville

Position Title: Housekeeping Team Member   Reports to: Retail Supervisor   Department: Operations    FLSA Status: Nonexempt         Position Purpose and Objectives      America’s Thrift Stores is currently seeking Housekeeping Team Members! We are looking for self-starters who are eager to join a company committed to partnering with charities to make a positive impact in our communities. Successful candidates will place a high priority on maintaining store cleanliness and delivering exceptional customer service. We are specifically seeking organized individuals who are self-motivated, excel in time management, and can adapt seamlessly to day-to-day responsibilities. This role offers a unique opportunity for individuals to merge their passion for customer service with the opportunity to give back to their communities.    Roles and Responsibilities      Performs general cleaning and sanitizing tasks and services throughout store.   Uses cleaning cart to transport cleaning supplies.   Proper labeling and handling of all cleaning chemicals.   Cleans and disinfects all restrooms, break room, sales floor, dock, and processing departments.   Wipes and dusts all high-touch surfaces throughout the store.   Sweeps and mops floors throughout store.   Stocks paper towels and toilet paper in restrooms as needed.     Picks up and empties trash containers.   Notifies management if something is not working properly.   Performs other related duties as assigned by management.         Skills and Qualifications     High School Degree, GED or equivalent work experiences preferred.   Previous housekeeping or janitorial experience preferred.   Able to understand and execute company policies and procedures.   Prolonged periods of standing and walking throughout the retail space.   Excellent organizational and time management skills with a strong ability to prioritize.   Able to accurately keep records and communicate progress to management.   On the job training provided.         Competencies      Never- 0%, Occasionally- 1-33%, Frequently- 34-66%, Continuously- 67-100%      Physical Demands:   Frequently - Carrying up to 50 lbs., pushing and pulling up to 25 lbs., lifting up to 50 lbs., climbing up to 14-foot height, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, handling and smelling.   Frequently - Walking on tile/concrete, bending, feeling, and reaching waist/overhead level.   Continuously - Standing on tile/concrete, talking, seeing, and hearing.      Other:   Mostly regular and weekend hours, occasionally working evenings and holiday hours as needed.   Working environment includes inside of building withsemi- controlled temperatures and outside conditions with varying weather and temperatures.              Other duties as assigned: Please note that this job description may not cover every duty or responsibility that might arise in the course of employment.
