Shipping/Receiving Team Member - Ocean Springs

Position Title: Shipping/Receiving Team Member   Department: Operations           Reports to: General Manager  FLSA Status: Nonexempt      Position Purpose and Objectives     America’s Thrift Stores is seeking a new Shipping/Receiving Team Member to join our dynamic team! This role offers a unique opportunity to blend your passion for charity with your interest in retail.      Roles and Responsibilities     Accurately counts, weighs, and measures incoming and outgoing shipments.  Ensures timely delivery of materials to the required locations.  Records material movements and weights in the designated tracking system.  Identifies and documents discrepancies, including shortages and excesses, and promptly reports issues to management.  Safely operates material handling equipment while adhering to PPE guidelines.  Provides assistance to customers or donors at the store donation center as needed.  Performs additional tasks as assigned by the supervisor or management.      Skills and Qualifications     Must be 18 years or older.  Basic math skills are essential.  Must work well in a team-oriented setting.  Must understand and follow company policies and procedures.  Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize effectively.  Must be capable of maintaining accurate records and reporting progress to management.  Proven ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.  Successful completion of background check, motor vehicle check, and drug screen.   Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.          Competencies   Never- 0%, Occasionally- 1-33%, Frequently- 34-66%, Continuously- 67-100%      Physical Demands:   Frequently - Carrying up to 50 lbs., pushing and pulling up to 25 lbs., lifting up to 50 lbs., climbing up to 14-foot height, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, handling and smelling.   Frequently - Walking on tile/concrete, bending, feeling, and reaching waist/overhead level.   Continuously - Standing on tile/concrete, talking, seeing, and hearing.      Other:   Mostly regular and weekend hours, occasionally working evenings and holiday hours as needed.   Working environment includes inside of building withsemi- controlled temperatures and outside conditions with varying weather and temperatures.               Other duties as assigned: Please note that this job description may not cover every duty or responsibility that might arise in the course of employment.
