Senior Business Analyst

 

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP

 

Chief Education and Global Health Officer

 

BASIC FUNCTION:

 

Develop and manage the implementation of strategic solutions to grow American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) domestic and global education products, services, and programs. Provide analytics necessary to implement, measure, and optimize performance and productivity strategies. Leverage internal and external partnerships to support the advancement of educational opportunities and revenue growth in alignment with the AAP mission. 

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  1. Evaluate health education market trends to identify new business opportunities for expanding and enhancing AAP educational resources to meet the diverse needs of AAP members and partners and maximize revenue growth. 
  2. Execute all aspects of business process analysis, including needs assessment, strategic planning, concept development, scope definition, problem discovery, risk identification, and mitigation planning. Develop robust presentations to support and define business cases, needs and processes leveraging information gathered through interviews, observation, research, and business modeling techniques.
  3. Work with Education and Global Health staff to develop business plans for new courses and learning products optimizing technology opportunities.
  4. Develop qualitative and quantitative analyses for program planning and for use in monitoring program performance. Perform detailed Gap Analysis between current and future state business models.
  5. Analyze market trends and product sales to make financial projections for AAP educational products.
  6. Strengthen relationships with current partners and build relationships with medical education leaders, professional associations, NGOs, and government officials to leverage program partnerships and the technical expertise of AAP members to continuously expand the AAP footprint in global health and education.
  7. Collaborate with AAP marketing, membership, and public affairs staff to create and enhance marketing materials that optimize messaging to promote the value and quality of AAP educational offerings.
  8. Provide strategic guidance to supervisor on business opportunities to advance department and AAP initiatives.
  9. Develop and oversee assigned budgets.
  10. Perform other duties as assigned.

 

EDUCATION: 

 

Bachelor’s degree in business or related discipline required. MBA strongly preferred. 

                                    

EXPERIENCE:

 

At least six years’ related experience managing new business development initiatives in health-related field required, including some experience with global markets and education products. Experience with budget management, facilitating collaboration and building consensus among various partners, and knowledge of medical education landscape and global health care environment required. Demonstrated expertise in building business cases using fact-based market research, and cost/benefit analysis with a go/no go recommendation essential. 

 

 

 

 

 

ESSENTIAL SKILLS:

 

Excellent interpersonal, verbal/written communication, presentation, negotiation, analytical, critical thinking, and diplomacy skills required. Must be able to clearly articulate complex concepts to senior executives, take initiative, manage multiple priorities simultaneously,  pay close attention to detail, troubleshoot and problem solve, work both independently and as part of a team, collaborate effectively with various internal and external constituents, bridge partnerships between culturally diverse groups, and promote and maintain a positive and cooperative team-oriented work environment, with a commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion. Must be a strategic and creative leader who displays and inspires innovation, and be mission-driven while also entrepreneurial, creative, and focused on revenue growth. Fluency in foreign language(s) highly desired. Strong technical acumen essential with proficiency in MS Office products and SalesForce and the ability to learn and apply new technologies to advance work priorities; experience with virtual meeting platforms (eg, WebEx, Teams, document collaboration platforms (eg, SharePoint), and budgeting software (eg, Acumatica) preferred.  Travel (domestic and international) and evening/weekend work required, as well as the ability to be flexible with work schedule to accommodate physicians’ availability.

Hybrid work environment of 40% of work time in the office per month.
