Description
American Academy has one full-time opening for a Gifted & Talented Coordinator for the 2025-2026 school year to oversee American Academy’s Gifted & Talented programming.
Responsibilities
- Oversee Gifted & Talented program and collaborate with Gifted & Talented Coordinators across all 3 campuses.
- Complete identification of gifted learners and the development and implementation of advanced learning plans, in accordance with applicable school, district, state and federal policies, procedures and laws, including American Academy’s core values/mission and behavior expectations.
- Collaborate and share expertise on targeted instruction, differentiation, and interventions.
- Communicate with teachers and parents regarding student academic and behavioral growth.
- Evaluate progress towards student academic and affective goals.
- Facilitate and participate in district-wide and site-based meetings such as those related to Gifted & Talented, MTSS, staff meetings, in-services, etc.
- Serve as a school/network support and provide additional assistance and resources at the request of American Academy stakeholders as appropriate.
Requirements
- CDE Teaching License with endorsement in Gifted Education Specialist (PreK-12).
- Previous experience with Gifted Education programming and assessment.
- Previous experience with the Multi-Tiered System of Support model (MTSS).
- Ability to adapt and differentiate lessons in all content areas at all grade levels.
- Vision for being part of a high functioning Student Support Services team, including psychologist, counselor, social worker, occupational therapist, learning specialists, interventionists, and speech and language pathologists.
- Ability to disaggregate student data and progress.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with staff, students, and parents.
- Strong organization skills.
Qualifications
Salary : $55,000 - $70,000
