Job Summary
The American Action Forum is seeking a Press Secretary. This position works closely with AAF’s policy experts to ensure policy-heavy materials are presented in clear, effective, and useful ways. Duties include: writing press releases, compiling AAF's Daily Dish e-mail, pitching AAF products to media for the most impactful coverage, cultivating relationships with reporters, leveraging AAF events to promote research and policy content, and keeping track of the news cycle so that products are released and promoted in a timely and effective way.
A successful candidate will be able to complete tasks quickly in a fast-paced work environment, have excellent writing and editing skills, exceptional attention to detail, and strong organizational skills.
This on-site position will report to the Vice President for Communications.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Undertaking a wide variety of writing and editing tasks
- Compiling daily emails
- Building strong relationships with policy experts and reporters
- At least 1-2 years of related experience
- Excellent writing, editing, and verbal communications skills
- Strong organization skills and demonstrable multi-tasking ability
- An interest in federal fiscal and economic policy and a desire to understand and promote work that advances a more efficient and effective federal government

Salary commensurate with experience, anticipated range: $55,000-$65,000
